Nottingham Mela has attracted many people to this year’s festival and The Cheesecake Shop, Wollaton was one of the most popular stalls. The brilliant dance shows paired with the opportunity to taste a vast choice of cakes made the already sunny day even sweeter.
Having set up their stalls at 9am, armed with birthday cakes, party cakes, wedding cakes, dessert tables, tortes, sponges, cake pops and cheesecakes of which the latter two sold out in the first couple of hours as people rushed back for seconds, they made sure that options were available for all the sweet tooths’ out there. Many people had the choice of vegetarian cheesecakes, tortes and sponges most of which are made without eggs.
Eve, 28 from Nottingham said: ‘’I had no idea that The Cheesecake Shop, Wollaton had so many options for vegetarians, so I had to try them [the cakes] and they were so delicious. I usually go to the cakebox but I will definitely visit them [The Cheesecake Shop, Wollaton] from now on.’’
Later on in the day a competition was put on through the use of social media and Instagram for which a lucky winner was chosen who won a free cake, already the early start was worth seeing the smile on peoples faces.
