Self-Service Checkouts, Self-Service Amazon Delivery, Self-Service Car Washes; Out of all of the self-service technologies that we use in our day to day lives, this one is my favourite!
Today marked an important day in the city of Nottingham, as the city’s first ever Self-Service Bar opened up on Byard Lane. Those of you who are into the fashion world may recognise this address as the first ever Paul Smith Store, which opened back in 1970. Fast forward almost 40 years and the amazing mind behind Trinity Square’s “Another? Wine Bar” has partnered with his brother to launch a brand new venture.
The Tap House has a seating capacity of 60 people (48 inside and a further 12 seats in the very stylish Beer Garden). Towards the back of the venue is the “Beer Wall”, that’s right no Bar just a Beer Wall. Over 20 taps pouring a variety of Craft Beers, Lagers, Ciders; there’s even a tap for Wine!
Each customer is charged per 100ml of drink and can use a Tab Card to pay the bill.
Serving up Detroit-Style Pizza, the venue will be feeding those that are hungry from 5pm every day! With a variety of topping choices, such as: Margarita, Pepperoni, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Broccoli and Feta, and Mushroom and Gorgonzola.
The Owners have also released that they have no ties to specific breweries or suppliers, meaning that they can change the drinks menu to react to the demand of the public!
My bugbear with a lot of craft beer places, is they just do craft and some of it is weird and wonderful and some of it is actually quite bad so we have worked really hard with our suppliers to get a list of 20 beers that are excellent.– Tom Benjamin, Co-Founder of The Tap House
And if Beer just isn’t your thing, Wine-o’s can enjoy a drink from a selection of Red, White, Rose and Fizz.
If a Self-Service Bar sounds like your kind of thing, The Tap House on Byard Lane is the place for you!
